When I was a little girl, I patched up all my stuffed animals. I cannot remember a time when my imaginary clinic was not bustling with perceived traumatic amputations and assorted cuts. All of them needed multiple shots and x rays. My stuffed animals were not a healthy bunch.
My (siblings) and I would watch live surgeries on PBS while we ate lunch as children, and I recall being fascinated by the human body and all the medical vernacular exchanged during the procedures.
